North Hastings Music Festival Online 2021

With very short notice and Covid restrictions, these students managed to submit great performances to the North Hastings Music Festival. All of these students won awards! We all hope the festival is 'live' next year. Thanks to the organizers for putting this together.

Gioia Guerriero has been taking lessons from Kevin for over half of her life, 7 years! Gioia is a natural musician, songwriter and performer. She has been involved in most of the workshops held at Glory Studios and was the lead singer for Band Camp in 2019. Gioia switched from picking style - steel string guitar methods a year and a half ago to the Royal Conservatory of Music Classical Guitar Program. She is currently in level 2-3. Gioia participated in the North Hastings Music Festival - Online 2021 and received two awards, one for Own Composition and the other for Grade 1 Fretted Strings Award. Keep your eyes open for this young lady, as she advances beyond her age in music creation and performing.
Jack Lloyd has been studying guitar with Kevin for the past 2 years and quickly developed a taste for Classical Guitar, so he increased his lesson time to include both picking style - steel string guitar and the Royal Conservatory of Music Classical Guitar Program. He is currently in level 2-3. Jack entered two videos for the North Hastings Music Festival - Online 2021 and received the Grade 2 Fretted Strings Award and had one of his videos featured in the Festival of the Stars YouTube video.
Veda Guerriero is certainly following in her older sister, Gioia's footsteps and has a natural ability to sing and play music. Veda has been instructed by Kevin for the past couple of years on electric bass guitar. She loves to play and sing along with Kevin and the drum machine and seems to have a love for the Beatles (how could she go wrong). This was Veda's first time participating in the North Hastings Music Festival and did an amazing job! Veda received the Play and Sing Award at this year's online festival and had one of her songs featured in the Festival of the Stars YouTube video.

This teen age student has been working dilegently with Kevin in the Royal Conservatory of Music Classical Guitar program. He is now in level 4, and recently told Kevin that when he gets assigned a new song, he practices it 20 times per day. We think you can hear it and see it in these videos. These videos were created for the North Hastings Music Festival - Online 2021. Tyler received the Fretted Strings Award of Distinction and one of his videos was included in the online Festival of the Stars on YouTube.
